My life in photographs...

Thought I would quickly explain why I have all the little pictures down the side of my blog! I put them up because I think they look really nice but also beacause they all highlight different things I do / things I like! All the photos are done in different styles using the Instragram app for the Iphone, which I am absolutly in love with! Have to steal my boyfriends phone all the time however because I am stuck with a blackberry. The first two are just posters I have up in my flat, that I was kinda testing it on but they look really cool I thought. Then there is my mood board for uni, showing my theme chosen for a photoshoot ( last post is the finished work! ). A few of the photos are taken when I went down to Aberdeen beach and was just playing around in the sand etc but I love the peace sign in the sand, its one of my facvourite photos ever, mostly because I LOVE the peace sign a lot. The most recent photo at the top is the Coca Cola christmas truck (obviously) that I visited when it drove to Aberdeen a few weeks ago! It was very exciting, totally made me feel like a kid again! Oh yeah and not to mention the one I took when I was messing about with the letters on the fridge, clearly having the time off my life and leaving a cute little message for my friend!
But anyways Im gonna keep posting them so look out for new ones, mostly of random, un-important things, but all of which are significant to me!

FINALLY!

My work is DONE, at LAST :). So I have managed to finish my magazine spreads for uni, and I am quite happy with them! Took alot of time, hardwork, and effort but it was all totally worth it! Our course is publishing a fashion magazine made up of photoshoots and articles etc that we have all done ourselves, it has been such a good experience! The magazine is called 'Muse', and focuses on the Diversity in Fashion. Thought I would post a few pictures of my finished stuff before I hand it in tomorow and wait on my more than likely, awful, grade!
The photo quality isnt great but hopefully you can get the idea!

Front Cover and Editors letter pages!

This is the first double spread of our tribal themed photoshoot, staring the sexy, Hannah Sture.

More of the photos with a colour bleed over them!

This was my double spread for my article that I wrote. I wrote an article on the cruelty to animals in order to make fur. It was really interesting and I loved doing it, found out some really shocking stuff!

Product page - This was my second attempt at my product page and im still not happy with it but really dont have the time / will power to do a third one!

Couldnt of done it all without the best partner in the world, Hannah Whiting (http://fashionmagpies.blogspot.com/) check out her blog! And of course our photographer Rachael, who was amazing!
Fingers crosssssedddd!

INGLOT.

So, INGLOT is a new make up store in Aberdeen, apparently it originated in Scandinavia, and has spread to many countries over the world! I went into the shop for the first time the other day, and I fell in love! It was an amazing store, so shiney and colourful and sleek! It made you totally want to buy EVERYTHING. I went in for foundation, as I needed a new one I thought I may aswell try it out. There was so many different shades, so I asked one of  the ladies (who were all foriegn) for a colour match, instead she said she would give me samples of all the shades close to my skin tone so I could take them home to try them out.  I thought this was a really good way of doing it as I could then see how each would look after I have all my make up on for day to day wear. I am heading back today to buy the one I liked best :) It was also only £14 found for a resonably big bottle which I thought was very good value, as I would usually not mind spending about £22 on a Clinique foundation or something! The store/brand I thought had so many similarities to MAC, except it was a lot cheaper! I deffinatly can see myself going in and buying hundreds of different lipsticks and nail varnishes as I LOVE different coloured lipsticks! I have deffinatly found myself a new make-up OBSESSION! Heres a wee link to the website so you can take a look -

Holidays are coming...

So, Im not usually a very christmassy person, I ataually hate it, but i have my reasons! But the other day I went to visit the Coca cola truck (See picture on right) when it was in Aberdeen, although it was slightly disapointing, I ataully got me in the mood for Christmas! Theres tons of stuff I want right now, so I have a massive list of stuff I hope to get...

Black (Black) Aztec Jumper | 238840401 | New Look
AZTEC print jumper, NEW LOOK. The one I atually tried on was the opposite way around, white background with black pattern, but it doesnt make that much difference :)

Love getting new perfume at Christmas time, different smells always remind me of different years! In love with DAISY at the moment, even though its been out for ages! Im hating the newer ones, Lola/Oh Lola.

ABE Ultimate Chelsea Boots

Been looking for a nice pair of Chelsea boots for ages now. These ones are quite nice, but there TOPSHOP, and I prefer to look elsewear for similar ones as TOPSHOP is so common etc!

Sparkle & Fade Winter Tribal Leggings
Loving AZTEC print leggings, Urban Outfitters have nooo many online, going to Glasgow soon to do some Xmas shopping so deffinatly going to raid it!

Ive also been in a huge hunt for an oversized stonewash denim jacket, and a denim shirt! Ive look everywhere for a denim shirt I like but they all just seem to look cheap :( Ill keep looking tho!

VERSACE FOR H&M

So, Versaces collection for H&M was launched today! I have been reading about it, and apparently stores all over the world were out of stock for the collection within 30 minutes! The line was so popular that people were queing up over night to get into the store first! Its not surprising though as the clothes are GORGEOUS and at a really reasonable price too! Dontella herself made an appearance at the Regent Street store in London, wearing a £199 pink studded dress and denim jacket from the collection...

Customers were given a maximum shopping time and were thrown out of stores when it was up! Online shoppers also had troubles when the website crashed shortly after the launch due to so many people trying to access it! It was said in the Gaurdian that tickets sold faster than Glastonbury! MADNESS. Im sure it was all worth it though in the end, heres some of the amazing peices...

LOVE the leather jacket! Infact, it all.
Thats just a like to the collection on the website, but you've more than likely already looked at it!
Unfortunatly none of Aberdeens TINY H&MS stocked the collection :(
Comment and let me know if you got your hands on anything!

Fashion Photoshoot..

So, finally the photoshoot is done! It went extremely well, got some amazing shots! The location was perfect, we had never visited it before so it was lucky it worked well! The only down fall was the bad weather, it was freeezing cold, and we had small patches of rain so our poor models (Hannah Sture & Claire Macdonald) were fighting for there toes while the photos were being taking. I have a small selection of the photos, although they have not yet been edited so ill put a few up, but im not wanting to give too much away! :)....

The photos are still to be edited by our lovely  and super talented photographer, Rachel Sture.. but they already look incredible dont you think?

Back to the fashion shoot.

Today me and my group have been working on our shoot. Using brightly coloured feathers and beads, we made the jewelery we bought previously a bit more exciting, so it will stand out in the shots!

This necklace (£6 Primark), originally just had black feathers attached, by using feathers we bought at hobby craft and some thin wire, we have added alot more colour and life to the peice and as a result it will stand out when photographed agasint bare skin!

This is just a simple gold braclet from Primark (£2.50), its clearly quite oversized anyway but we have added coloured feathers to the end of it which make it look much more orignal and gives it a tribal feel!
We plan to complete our shoot on or around November 7th so expect to see the best photos from the shoot up shortly after that! EXCITING.

Coco tuesdays...

Just some photos of what I wore last night when me and my flatmate (fashionmagpies.blogspot.com) headed out to Coco, at Babylon. After struggling to find an outfit, as per, I eventually found this feather patterned top, which I atually bought two years ago in Topshop but thought it still worked for todays trends! Also plenty of accessories can make such a difference to an outfit!

Shoes- £40 AB10   Cross Necklace- £6.00 Topshop   Feather Necklace- £2 Miss Selfridge sale
Watch- £40 Urban Outfitters   Blue stoned ring- £2 Primark

The beginning.

Apologies for the lack off / no posts since I started my blog! We have been so busy in preparation for our photoshoot -which is part of our Fashion Communication module at uni- that I have had no extra time to post anything! We have at last come up with a theme and location for the shoot and now we just have to collect the clothes and decide on a model!

The theme we are going to base the shoot on is Tribal/Aztec, as there is so much in the shops right now that fit this! We are hoping to have loads of exciting patterns, colourful feathers, head pieces, and PEACE SIGNS. (my favourite thing in the whole world). Heres some photos of the jewelery we collected in town today to go along with the outfits....

A lot of the jewelery we are going to use it stuff of our own. The rest we have bought from Topshop (the two necklaces in the bottom photo), Miss Selfridge (the peace and feather necklaces in the top photo), and the other bits are from Primark (bargains). Apart from the tiny little blue peace sign bracelet, which is mine, I bought it in Ibiza in the summer, for 4 euros! And I absolutely adore it!

Im going to upload photos from the shoot, and of the location and garments etc as soon as we have done it, hoping to have it completed in the next couple of weeks!

ps. heres a couple of links to the location of our shoot! looks amazing!
